Fabric of your choice
Elastic band
Sewing machine or needle and thread

Here are the steps to make a hair band:
Measure the circumference of your head where you want the hair band to sit. Add an extra inch for seam allowance.
Cut a piece of fabric that is the length of your head circumference measurement and about 4-5 inches wide.
Fold the fabric in half lengthwise, with the right sides facing each other.
Sew along the long edge of the fabric, leaving the ends open. If using a sewing machine, use a straight stitch. If hand-sewing, use a running stitch.
Turn the fabric tube right side out.
Cut a piece of elastic that is about 1-2 inches shorter than your head circumference measurement.
Attach a safety pin to one end of the elastic and thread it through the fabric tube, gathering the fabric as you go.
Once the elastic is threaded through, overlap the ends and sew them together securely.
Tuck the raw edges of the fabric inside the tube and sew the ends closed.
Your hair band is now ready to wear!
