Which type of small cosmetic mirror is best for makeup?

There are different types of small cosmetic mirror that can be used for doing makeup, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. Now, ESHA give a brief introduction to the types of small cosmetic mirror: 

1. Handheld Mirrors: These mirrors come in various shapes and sizes but they’re usually smaller than full size Makeup mirrors and designed to be portable so you can take them anywhere you need them. They’re good for general makeup tasks such as applying foundation, concealer, eyeshadows etc., though some designs could have a magnifying glass added which makes them more suitable for brow grooming as well. These aren’t great for contouring because they lack enough area to see your whole face at once.

   
   

2. Compact Mirrors: Similar to hand held ones above; these tend to include two separate mirror panels – one normal/ regular reflective surface & another side is either magnified (x10), x8 or x5 . The magnification makes these compacts perfect for shaping eyebrows or cleaning up mistakes.

   
   

3. Lighted Makeup Mirrors: These mirrors often feature multiple LED bulbs on the bottom border around the actual mirror surface itself – this provides better lighting conditions to see yourself clearly while doing makeup or just checking out your overall appearance. Some models even sport touchscreen controls - all in all, lighted mirrors are convenient if you prefer to do most of your makeup in low-light environments.

   
   

4. Makeup Storage / Organization Mirrors: As the name suggests – this category includes not only the actual mirror panel but also drawers or compartments built into the frame. Usually intended to keep your entire collection of brushes, palettes etc within easy reach plus visible. Some higher end models might boast dimmable LED lighting.

   
   

5. Travel Mirrors : Designed primarily with space saving principles in mind, travel mirrors can fold flat for easier storage . You won’t find many features since these mirrors prioritize convenience over everything else however they still do have at least basic magnification on board. Not ideal for day-to-day home use thoug.
